I'd Rather...
- You happy and me sad
- You strong and me weak
- You glad and me upset
- You comfortable and me uncomfortable
- You at peace and me at war
- You well and me ill
- You joyful and me mournful
- You blessed and me woeful
- You alive and me dead
- You unscathed and me wounded
- You soaring and me crawling
- You be loved and me, hated
- You blest and me cursed
- You sitting and me standing
- You laughing and me weeping
- You smiling and me frowning
- You be calm and me, tossed
- You be warm and me, in frost
- You in spring and me, in fall
- You stand tall, and me be small
- You run free and me chained be
- You love and me resent
- You the best and me the worst
- You cheered and me booed
- You built and me destroyed
- You rooted and me sinking
- You be you and me be me!!!

It Is Well...
It Is Well with My Soul
Horatio G. Spafford
1. When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul. Refrain: It is well with my soul, it is well, it is well with my soul. 2. Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blest assurance control, that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed his own blood for my soul. (Refrain) 3. My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! (Refrain) 4. And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll; the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul. (Refrain) This song here, like any other good song, has a real interesting history, one worth sharing with all of you... Horatio Gates Spafford (October 20, 1828 - October 16, 1888), was a successful lawyer and a man who was involved and maintained a keen interest in christian activities, yet some thing happened to him that I, personally, am not sure if i'd ever be able to withstand...1. In 1870, his only son (Horatio Jr.) died of hayfever at the age of 42. In 1871, the Great Chicago Fire (he was a prominent lawyer there) swept through the city and destroyed almost everything he owned. (He also invested heavily in the city's real estate)3. In 1873, Horatio decides his family should go for a holiday in Europe, and decides to send them on their way to England (he was delayed by business), while crossing the Atlantic, their ship Ville Du Havre gets involved in an accident, all four of Horatio's daughters die.4. Anna Spafford (Horatio's wife) sends a telegram from England beginning with two words "saved alone..." Spafford rushed to England, and when crossing the place where his children died, the captain called Horatio to his cabin and told him that they were doing so. It was during this time when Horatio wrote the words to the song...Amazing how strong some people can be, even in the worst of conditions... Anyway, one thing I do know, if anything happens, I should still be able to say "It is well with my soul..."Father, help me to be strong, to be able to always realize that my life is in Your hands, and that in all things Father, You work for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose... Help me to be strong and help all my friends, family and people I know to depend and trust in You in all circumstances... Your will be done in my life, Father, for all this I pray in Jesus' name...Amen...

Perfection...
"There is no such thing as perfect in this world.
That may sound cliché, but it is the truth. The average person admires perfection and seeks to obtain it.
But what is the point in achieving perfection?
There is none. Nothing. Not a single thing.
I loathe perfection!
If something is perfect, then there is nothing left. There is no room for imagination.
No place left for a person to gain additional knowlege or abilities.
Do you know what that means?
For scientists such as ourselves, perfection only brings despair.
It is our job to create things more wonderful than anything before them, but never obtain perfection.
A scientist must be a person who finds ecstasy while suffering from that antinomy.
In short, the moment that foolishness [claiming perfection] left your mouth and reached my ears, you had already lost.
Of course, that is assuming you are a scientist.

LOVE???
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails.
True love, as the good book says, is patient, kind, and so on...
Most people seem to mistake love simply for a different kind of love, one that says "I love you BECAUSE you did this..." or "I love you BECAUSE you did that..."
I believe true love says "I love you DESPITE of whatever you do, and will CONTINUE to love you anyway"...
Coming to college and leaving home was kind of an eye-opener for me... I remember days when I used to get into quarrels with koko or girlie, or upset mummy or daddy... I remember how i'd think that i'm always right, even after i'd apologize, but most of all I remember how we'd forgive each other and live on, as sunfall came... Love keeps no record of wrongs... Beautiful advice from mum and dad : NEVER LET THE SUN GO DOWN IN YOUR ANGER...
I recall days when I sat alone in college and a friend would pass by and say "HI!!!", teaching me friendship, showing me love in their own way... I remember days when, waiting for the bus alone, a friend would pop up and wait with me... I still see times when... Greeted by a smile, my gloomy day would be cheerful, dark clouds would part and make way for the sunlight!!! Truly, if love shown in friends spin the world round, i'm so blest to have a rather fast spinning world! :)
You know, come to think of it, I understand now why I am asked to "Love your neighbour as yourself" and "Love your enemies"... If everyone shows love to one another, i'd bet the world would be a much safer, cozier and more comfortable place to live in...
Why, you ask? You REALLY think it'll work?
I know it will...
Here's why...
LOVE NEVER FAILS!!!
