Ahhhhh, perfection... The very word that describes something that everybody aims for... Or do they?

Amazing what sense some anime characters can tell you... I never thought much of perfection except something which (almost) everybody aims and strives to be... Until i heard this...

Mayuri Kurotsuchi on Perfection
"There is no such thing as perfect in this world.
That may sound cliché, but it is the truth. The average person admires perfection and seeks to obtain it.
But what is the point in achieving perfection?
There is none. Nothing. Not a single thing.

loathe perfection!
If something is perfect, then there is nothing left. There is no room for imagination.
No place left for a person to gain additional knowlege or abilities.
Do you know what that means?
For scientists such as ourselves, perfection only brings despair.
It is our job to create things more wonderful than anything before them, but never obtain perfection.
A scientist must be a person who finds ecstasy while suffering from that antinomy.

In short, the moment that foolishness [claiming perfection] left your mouth and reached my ears, you had already lost.
Of course, that is assuming you
are a scientist.

Wow... I couldn't agree more...

Think about it... What's the point of being perfect? I'm not sure what to say, and I have to admit, it's quite a weird thing to tell someone "I never want to be perfect"...

Well, maybe society's perception of "perfection" might actually differ from one person to another, but still, what's the point of being perfect? It's like... There's no chance to get better after that...

Wow... Maybe Ah Ben or Ah Dave might wanna try doing literary criticism on this speech ya?

In terms of Calculus, I believe we should create a continuous graph, one approaching the limit of "perfect" but never actually touching it...

Oh man, what am I saying laaaa?!?!

I believe perfection is something unacheiveable, still, what's to stop us from trying?

Me? I'm content in trying to be all that I can be... :)

Oh, and for those who might be wondering, Mayuri Kurotsuchi is the 12th squad captain of Soul Society in Bleach, or else the Mad Scientist in the anime (and also my favourite character!!!)
Weird-looking guy? I know... But then again, Einstien looked weird... :P

So, for all you guys and girls out there, don't ever worry about not being perfect, nor about not achieving what society expects you to... And for not being perfect, sorry, but that's who I am... And i'm proud of it!!!

Oh P/S: Happy CNY guys n gals!!! Xing Nian Kuai Le, Gong Xi Fa Cai, San Yin Fai Lo, etc etc etc... You can send your angpaus to me via post, courier, poslaju, and so on... :P

Ahh... Finally back online...
So many things to write about, so little time...
Sorry about the looooooooong delay between the posts, it's just that i've been kinda busy with applications, catching up with Calculus, homework, one thing or another this past week or so, it's a miracle that i've lasted thus far, and managed to finish my homework with some spare time to blog today!!! :)

So, what should I blog about??? Hmmm... Lemme see...

I've been holding this idea for about a week now, so I guess it's high time I get on to writing it... Lets talk about a subject everyone LOVEs hearing about... A subject so LOVEly, deadly, powerful and mysterious... A subject not about cLOVErs and bees, rather about LOVErs and trees... (OK, i admit, that was a little bit of an overkill...) Yup, you got it... It's...

Okay, so now you go "Alright Malcolm, I got it... so what about love? What can YOU of all people tell me about it???" Well then, the answer is...

Well... A little, I guess :-P

Anyway, here goes!!!

What do you think of love? What IS love? Is it that strange feeling of butterflies in the stomach? (Err... Don't think i'd like to imagine that...) Is it just... Well... "Aiyah, you noe laaaaa!!! I love you you love me... Simple laaaa!!! Like dat oso dunno!!!"

Well, love, to me, is different... Of course this as usual comes with a bible verse...

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails.

True love, as the good book says, is patient, kind, and so on...

Most people seem to mistake love simply for a different kind of love, one that says "I love you BECAUSE you did this..." or "I love you BECAUSE you did that..."

I believe true love says "I love you DESPITE of whatever you do, and will CONTINUE to love you anyway"...

Coming to college and leaving home was kind of an eye-opener for me... I remember days when I used to get into quarrels with koko or girlie, or upset mummy or daddy... I remember how i'd think that i'm always right, even after i'd apologize, but most of all I remember how we'd forgive each other and live on, as sunfall came... Love keeps no record of wrongs... Beautiful advice from mum and dad : NEVER LET THE SUN GO DOWN IN YOUR ANGER...

I recall days when I sat alone in college and a friend would pass by and say "HI!!!", teaching me friendship, showing me love in their own way... I remember days when, waiting for the bus alone, a friend would pop up and wait with me... I still see times when... Greeted by a smile, my gloomy day would be cheerful, dark clouds would part and make way for the sunlight!!! Truly, if love shown in friends spin the world round, i'm so blest to have a rather fast spinning world! :)

You know, come to think of it, I understand now why I am asked to "Love your neighbour as yourself" and "Love your enemies"... If everyone shows love to one another, i'd bet the world would be a much safer, cozier and more comfortable place to live in...

Why, you ask? You REALLY think it'll work?

I know it will...

Here's why...

The Lord is My Shepherd

You know I always learnt that Bible verses could be helpful. Never did understand how memory verses could help, but today I surely did...

Certain challenges I faced today really did drain me... Certain points during the day, I felt left behind, upset, angry, agitated, irritated and even downright scared... Again, I thank God for friends certainly! Of course, it would not be fair to not say thanks to God, of Whom i actually spent most of the today discussing my problems with, silently in prayer...

In any case, I guess here's what I really wanted to share, a chapter from the Psalms, yet gives hope to all people, and especially helped me get through the day...

Here goes the famous:

King James Version
[1]The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.
[2]He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters
[3]He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake
[4]Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
[5]Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou annointest my headwith oil; my cup runneth over
[6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. and I will dwell in the house of The Lord forever.

NIV Version
[1]The Lord is my shepherd I shall not be in want
[2]He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters
[3]He restores my soul. he guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
[4]Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me ; your rod and staff they comfort me
[5]You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows
[6]Surely goodnes and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Isn't it encouraging? God never leaves us, never intends to!!! I mean "Thou preparest a table before me in the PRESENCE of mine enemies"??? Come on, bring it on, evil!!! Surround me, but still I makan in front of you!!! Hehehehe...

Anyway, once again, thanks friends... You guys rock... When I needed to open my heart to you, you opened your ears. When I needed guidance, you offered your hand. When I needed comfort, you provided a shoulder. When I needed counsel, you sent your mind! Honestly, I can't thank you guys enough! Thanks guys, you know who you are!!!

Better work hard at being of service to others, 'cause if this continues, I can kiss resolution number two byebye!!!

Oh well, be strong! Think positive!!! I can do it!!! :)

Ah Ben, Ah Ben... Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me???

The title says how I feel... Here's how it works out...

Today's the first day of school!!! Again!!! What's the difference? Lecturers, classmates, subjects... The list goes on...

Just an introduction for my friends and family, i'm now a SENIOR, (only second semester laaa), but now experiencing the second semester in ICPU, Taylor's College Subang Jaya... The timetable? Don't really wanna talk about it... It's really quite messed up... But, well... Fine though... As the Good Book says "In all things God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose". Things aren't seeming as bad as I thought it would be. So now... DIARY-WRITING TIME!!!

Dear diary, (not sure how it's usually done so i'll just write how i presume regular humans write...)

Today's been a weird day! Can you believe i got up at 6? Was it excitement? Nervousness? I guess if I don't know, nobody else ever will? Oh anyway, got in the same bus as super-surprised Yasmin and Windy. Sat around and went for prayer meet, which ended up in solo prayer... I'm sure the CF team did a great job publicizing CF!!!

1st class - BIOLOGY, MS FIKAR, D12 : Only scholar in da house!!! Thank God for familiar faces like Yuvanes and gang. Met up with new people, I think a certain Chia, Naeema and Sarima or something (notice the name-taking? New Year's resolution, remember people's names xD) Correct me if i'm wrong, but do I detect a Czech accent? Or Russian anyway... But she seems like a nice lady, passionate about Biology...

2nd class - CALCULUS & VECTORS, MS NICOLE, D6 : Only joker takin' both C&V and Adv. Functions on the same semester in da house!!! Whoo!!! This calls for another memory verse "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Great thing Mathew, Xin Ying, Jeff, Amelia and some other jokers in there as well... Gonna have to strive to catch up with those others with Ad. F background...

3rd class - ADVANCED FUNCTIONS, MR JAWAD, D9 : Three words = BELIEVE THE HYPE!!! My goodness his accent's thick... Apparently it becomes worse... Still, there's always room for improvement!!! Hey, he tries, ok? Don't complain :) Anyway he gave some homework and it's a great thing there's Terence, Kheng & Jay-Z, yet still unsolvable... Great classmates, Iylia (Okay, confession time, i always thought it was Elia...), Ding, Laili & Thanya.

Break with the whole gin gang, (RH&LS :P, BJ, JZ, K, N&Y, A, A, etc etc...) ran to AC makan2 and den sambung @ Noodle Station... No LAN!!! Yet anyway...

4th class - ENG4U, MR DAVE BORDEN, D1 : Ah Ben, Ah Ben, Why hast thou forsaken me??? Nah, Mr Dave's a nice guy... Only prob is now finding a nice nickname for him... Hmmmm... Ainaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Amelia, WenFei, Anderson, Zulhilmi n so on all in d same class... Not bad, huh? :)

Anyway, life goes on...

Oh wait, did you ask what Ah Ben's response to the question was?
Watudu... The administration has forsaken us both...

You have to admit, smart answer... No argument there...

Magic card tricks starting to develop real well!!! Thanks Mom!!! :-)

Still trying to make an impact on all i meet... Another one resolution thanks to Julia :-) Names names... No DOTA on weekdays... Blah-blah-blah... Lets see how long it takes to break the resolutions...
