Oh well, moving on, lets talk a bit about POETRY!!!
For those taking ENG3U, you should know... Anyway, basically there are LOTS of forms of poetry, written in many many many ways, of which some are more nonsensical than others, and some requiring more thought...
In any case, it ISN'T EASY!!!
Oh well, at least Ah Ben gave us a... Somewhat easier method on decideing what poem to do, and how to do it... In his words "There's no point in me FORCING you to do a specific type of poem... If it's not from your heart or what you want to do, it's not really a poem..." No offense to other teachers...
Ok well, for those eager to try out his method, here goes... Prepare a piece of paper and a pen/pencil, now let no one see what you write... You have to be honest or else it won't work...
Ready? OK!!!
Answer these questions...
- How do you feel right now?
- What are the three biggest issues on your mind right now?
- What was the most faqntastic thing you ever witnessed?
- What are the five most important things in the world to you?
- What are your greatest fears?
- If you had one chance to send out a message to the entire world, what would that message be?
Got it? Alright, now draw 3 boxes and make mind maps out of it with the three ideas from earlier that you think are easiest to elaborate in poem form...
Got it? Now you're all set to go!!!
And you've got 1 week plus to finish it, together with a reasoning for EVERY word, EVERY rhyme and basically EVERY thing else, go forth and write thine poem!!!
